RicanVisions

Several of my artworks are part of the 'RicanVisions: Global Ancestralities & Embodied Futures' group exhibit in New York, curated by The Latinx Project in NYU.

From The Latinx Project curation team: 'RicanVisions' expands the canon of contemporary art from the Puerto Rican diaspora. A number of the artists highlight the knowledge systems and histories of their communities, with works that explore migration, identity, and intersectional heritages. Others draw on personal narratives and memories to address the complexities of Diasporican life and envision alternative world views. They examine the crutical role that the body and the family play in creating these future worlds. Altogether, their innovative and provocative works challenge and expand our understanding of the Puerto Rican experience and the diverse aesthetics and mediums through which contemporary artists are imagining future worlds. They look to the past to reimagine a decolonial future where we all flourish and thrive.

This powerful exhibit runs through May 2, and will have a Book Panel and Catalog Launch event at The Latinx Project on April 6, 6-9pm. Don't miss this fantastic show if you are in NYC!
